What To Do For Natural Wellness Week

Natural Wellness Week begins with one question:

What will you do this week for wellness?

It is an invitation to pause, notice, and choose something real.
Something that brings awareness back into life.
Something that supports the way we feel, connect, care, and participate in the world around us.

Natural Wellness is about relationship. The relationship we have with ourselves, and the relationship we have with everything around us. Our body, mind, heart, breath, thoughts, beliefs, habits, home, land, food, water, people, animals, plants, community, and the living world are all part of the same experience.
What happens inside us affects how we meet life.
What happens around us affects how life feels inside us.

A simple way to enter Natural Wellness Week is to choose one thing for your  self and your internal environment and one thing for the external environment. The internal environment is what is happening within us. It is the body, mind, heart, breath, energy, thoughts, emotions, choices, and honesty we bring to our own life. Doing something for the internal environment may be rest, movement, good food, water, meditation, breath, fasting, journaling, bodywork, prayer, silence, or simply being honest about where we are.

The external environment is what is happening around us. It is our relationships, loved ones, families, friends, workplaces, home, garden, animals, land, community, nature, and the wider living world. Doing something for the external environment may be helping someone, tending a plant, caring for an animal, cleaning a space, sharing food, reducing waste, checking in on someone, planting herbs, walking on the land, or offering kindness where it is needed.

This is where local and global become real. Local is where we are. It is the body we live in, the people near us, the home we return to, the land beneath our feet, and the community around us. Global is the wider living world that all of this belongs to. We do not need to reach far away to touch the global. We touch it through the local. How we live here matters.

Natural Wellness Week asks us to move in both directions: inward and outward. Care for self. Care for someone or something else. Notice the body and notice the world. Support the inner environment and support the outer environment. When we care for ourselves, we often have more to give. When we care for life around us, something inside us is also nourished.

So what do we do for Natural Wellness Week?

We pause. We notice. We choose something real.

Something for self.
Something for someone, something, or life around us.
Something that supports wellness.

The form is personal. The heart is the same.

Natural Wellness Week is an invitation to bring awareness into how we are living and how we are relating. To ourselves, to each other, to nature, to the local place we live, and to the wider world we belong to.
