Teachings from Orion: A Living Lineage of Shamanic Principles
Throughout my journey as a shamanic practitioner, I’ve kept a journal — a sacred place to record visions, visitations, dreams, and the subtle instructions from Spirit. But during my camps and teachings with Orion of Truth and Power, that journal took on another purpose:
It became a record of the living transmission passed through him.
Because while Orion gives us teachings, frameworks, and modules — what we truly receive is his presence. The way he walks. The way he holds space. His way of being is the lineage.
These are some of his core principles — teachings that PahPah and Wayama continue to live by and pass on in every healing session, circle, and retreat.
Be Safe. Be Safe With Others.
This principle is the foundation of Orion’s work. He teaches how to create real safety — not just emotional or physical safety, but a kind of energetic trust that becomes palpable.
When a group gathers with a shared commitment to kindness, expansion, and humility, the field shifts. I’ve witnessed moments of connection and community that defy explanation. Not even the best films or stories can capture what it feels like to actually be safe with others — to be seen, heard, and held without fear.
No Judgement. No Advice.
Orion lives by this. It is expected that all shamanic practitioners in this lineage embody this principle.
No Judgement
Judgement disrupts healing. Even silent, unconscious judgement — a fleeting thought or internal reaction — can close someone off. Orion teaches us to become so aware of our own projections that we no longer unconsciously carry them into our interactions.
Judgement is born of fear and a lack of understanding. Presence, patience, and compassion are its antidotes.
No Advice
This might seem surprising at first — aren’t healers supposed to offer advice?
But Orion teaches something deeper: that transformation arises from within.
Each person holds the key to their own unfolding. Our role is not to direct or fix, but to witness, walk beside, and honour the inner wisdom of others.
There are ways to offer support when someone asks for help — but always through deep listening, not through projection or assumption.
Kindness and Humility
These qualities are the ground we walk on. As we face our own story — the joy, the pain, the transformation — we develop the strength to be truly present for others in theirs.
What do we bring into the healing space?
Not expertise. Not superiority.
Just kindness and humility — a willingness to be with others in truth, without hiding or pretending.
No Bullshit
At Shaman Camp, a hand-painted sign in the kitchen read:
“No Judgement. No Advice. No Bullshit.”
It wasn’t a joke — it was the rule.
Orion teaches that bullshit is the subtle untruths — the ways we lie to ourselves or perform instead of being. When we fall into our unconscious patterns, or speak without awareness, we risk creating a field of confusion and disconnection.
With many people gathered in deep work, everyone has to hold the container. Everyone has to show up in their integrity. This is what makes the space truly alive — a dance of realness, honesty, and mutual respect.
Gravitas
One of Orion’s most powerful teachings is about gravitas — the deep weight of embodied transformation.
“No tree can grow to Heaven unless its roots reach down to Hell.”
He reminds us that true spiritual growth doesn’t float above life — it goes through it.
We need strong roots, forged in the fire of our own shadow work, pain, and integration. Only then can we be trustworthy holders of light.
Gravitas is what gives us presence. It’s what lets others feel safe in our company. It’s what creates a field of authenticity and depth.
A Living Lineage
Orion is a living elder, teacher, and visionary. His work continues to evolve, and we continue to learn from him — not just in memory, but in present, living relationship.
PahPah and Wayama walk in this lineage — not just as practitioners trained in method, but as people shaped by principles, presence, and practice. We bring this with us into our sessions in Stawell and our shamanic retreats, offering what was given to us:
Safety
Truth
Kindness
Realness
And deep respect for the mystery within each being.
