June Monthly R and R — Return and Reflection
Looking Back at June
Tomorrow we begin another Natural Wellness Week.
Before we step into July, I would like to pause for a moment and look back.
Over the past month, we have been living with one simple question:
What will you do for Natural Wellness?
When I first asked that question, it was an invitation to participate. To bring Natural Wellness out of an idea and into everyday life.
A month has now passed.
Life has continued through work, family, commitments, change and the ordinary movement of our days.
The question has changed with us.
It is no longer only asking what we will do.
It now asks:
What did we do?
This is where Monthly R & R begins.
Return gives us a moment to receive what has been lived before moving into what comes next.
Reflection allows us to notice what grew, what changed, what remains unfinished and what the month has been teaching us.
Over the past few days, I have been looking back over June for myself.
Not only as Wayama or as the facilitator of Natural Wellness Week, but as Addika.
I found myself reflecting on what I had done for my own Natural Wellness and what I had contributed to the Greater Whole.
I noticed the things I had imagined and brought into life, the places where I had grown, and the things that remained unfinished.
Both sides of the reflection mattered.
One showed me where I had participated.
The other showed me where life was still inviting me.
This is the value of reflection.
It helps us see our lives more clearly.
Natural Wellness grows through lived action, and reflection helps us recognise the relationship between our intentions and the way we actually lived.
It gives us a chance to acknowledge what supported us, what asked more of us, and what may still need our attention.
So today, before July begins, I invite you to return to the June question.
What will you do for Natural Wellness?
Then allow it to become:
What did I do for Natural Wellness?
You may notice what you did for yourself.
You may notice what you contributed to others, community, land or the Greater Whole.
You may recognise something you brought into life, somewhere you grew, or something that still remains unfinished.
Let the reflection be honest.
Let it also be kind.
June does not disappear when July begins.
We carry its experience, actions and discoveries forward.
Tomorrow, our monthly question changes.
From:
What will you do for Natural Wellness?
To:
What is Life asking us to listen to?
The second question grows naturally from the first.
Before choosing our next action, we listen.
Before responding, we give ourselves time to understand.
Before moving forward, we become quiet enough to hear.
Then we learn how to listen.
